Gala Evening 2019
The 13th Annual TJ's Gift Foundation Gala was held on
May 16th, 2019 at Canada Inns Polo Park, Winnipeg.
This year, as always, there was a fabulous 5 course gourmet dinner. Young speakers, Kamryn Johnson, Chloe May and Shilo Fenez from the TJ’s Task Force, in Seine River School Division.
TJ’s Champions Awards 2019
This year, there were 7 Champions Awards given out to 5 individuals, 1 group and 1 class
Laura Nault is a social worker in the Seine River School Division who works with kids to help them develop their leadership skill. Laura is a dedicated supporter of TJ’s Gift and has done many projects with students to encourage kids to, “Choose to be Drug Free”.
Darren Cable is a coordinator with the Work Education Program in Frontier School Division. Darren is dedicated to helping his students develop healthy life-long skills. Darren has been involved with TJ’s Gift Foundation for several years, hosting the Soaring Eagles Conference this year and for the past 2 years.
Vern Anderson is a child and youth worker in the Work Education program with the Frontier School Division. Vern has worked with Darren to help their students develop healthy life-long skills, and has assisted in hosting the Soaring Eagles Conference.
Donald Buchard works to support people fighting addictions in many areas, but particularly with Adult and Teen Challenge, and in street outreach.
Riley Rivardis a student in the Broadcast Media Program at the Louis Riel Arts and Technology Centre. He produced a video onvaping and why it is dangerous to young people.
Eduardo Lobo and Kenneth Plaetinct work with the Broadcast Media Program at Louis Riel Arts and Technology. They helped to create a video on cannabis for the Louis Riel School Division.
Adria Curtis, Ella McLean, Andrew Badea, Kailyn Lang are all members of the Youth Revolution Program. This program of approximately 150 kids from the Brandon School Division focuses on healthy living and avoiding drug involvement for kids. This programembodies the notion of peer education, that is the basis of all TJ’s Gift does. Kids helping kids.
